Ryoji Matsuoka M40 Handmade Classical Guitar (1981)
This guitar was completed on Saturday 17/10/1981 in Nagoya, Japan.
This Matsuoka M40 is a rare model, it sits in between the notorious M30 and the high sort after M50. This M40 was made by Ryoji Matsuoka himself while most other M40 guitars were made by his son Toshiaki. This guitar belonged to the Concert series and is a higher grade compared to the M80 in more recent years.
This guitar even higher grade than the 1990's Takamine No5 and No.6 in terms of sound, projection and tone.
I have enhanced the bracing to bring out its full potential and tuned the solid spruce top to the note of A.
It is now even more resonant, loud and rich in overtones.
The guitar has a dark mark on the top under the clear coat. It has no effect on the sound. Please refer to the photos.
This guitar has deep tight basses and crystal clear trebles. It is a pleasure to play and to enjoy.
