Handcrafted in Kani, Gifu, Japan
Here’s a truly special instrument from the bench of master luthier Kazuo Yairi — the YC-60, made in July 2007 (serial number 0707 597). The number 29938 on the label refers to its original production sequence in the Yairi workshop.
This guitar has a solid spruce top paired with rosewood back and sides, giving it the warm, balanced tone Yairi guitars are known for. It’s articulate, with deep bass response and crisp, singing trebles.
But what really sets this one apart is a little extra love I gave it in my workshop - I carefully tuned and voiced the top to its closest natural vibration frequency of G#. The result? A noticeably more resonant and harmonically rich guitar, with pleasing overtones that bloom with every note you play. It’s subtle but beautiful - you feel it as much as you hear it.
