This was the most expensive Yamaha classical guitar in Australia back in the early '70s early ’80s until Yamaha introduced the C-255 (G-255 export model)
The retail price of this was equal to 2 weeks' wage.
I have modified and enhanced the top to make it louder, more resonant and with more harmonics.
The mahogany back and sides help give the sound a more resonant tone with more presence.
This early version has higher grade tonewood as materials and labour were more affordable. The later iterations of this guitar were made from a lower grade and more economical tonewood.
